On Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, 2013 the Rotary Club of St. Paul's Feed My Starving Children project resulted in the packing of 171,072 meals utilizing six packing shifts. This was year four of the club’s 1910-2010 Centennial celebration project and the cost of the meals was paid out of its Centennial Fund. THANKS to the donors.

This was our largest packing event yet and the total for all four of our club sponsored packing events is now over 550,000 meals.

THANKS go to the 56 St. Paul Rotarians and their families, friends and/or groups who packed the meals, set up the room and cleaned it all up at the end. Also, THANK YOU to those St Paul Rotarians who did not pack meals but were thoughtful enough to help recruit volunteers. THANKS also to the 648 total volunteers who participated.

A special THANK YOU to the shift Captains/committee members who not only recruited volunteers and participated in the planning but also greeted the volunteers as they arrived and made sure they were properly registered and attired. Thank you Scott Van, Mindee Kastilec, Dick Warren, Kathy Warren, Trip Lund, Patrick Brown, Carla Hauge and Bo Aylin.  Thanks also to Jim Delameter for the tear down/clean up and to Laurie Murphy and Murphy Warehouse for transporting the trailer (“Fancy Nancy”) to and from Summit Brewing.

A BIG THANK YOU to Mark Stutrud and his Summit Brewing Company for so graciously hosting and participating in the event.  Mark – we cannot THANK YOU enough!!
