At the beginning of this month Nagasaki had a festival where people set up shops in town and sell china that ranges in prices from 10 yen to thousands of dollars. I went to this festival with the Tonomuras (my host family at the time). It was really interesting to see the varying styles of Japanese tableware and how much effort it takes to make some of the expensive pieces.

A couple days later there was a Rotary Exchange event at Mr. Kawabuchi’s house in Sasebo where we had a BBQ and caught fish in the small lake his house was situated by.

On the 18th I went with my host mother, Soline (the French exchange student), and my host mothers friend to a Dutch town in Sasebo City. It was alo of fun and we enjoyed looking at all the roses that are in bloom.

On the 19th I changed host families to the Mizunos. In the family there are 4 people, Taichi (the next host student) Mrs. And Mr. Mizuno, and my host sister. Currently my host sister is in Taiwan and my host father works in Osaka where he stays most of the time except for visits home. I had a little bit of trouble with this family

The end of the month I had school classes as usual and my days are mostly filled with classes and Kyudo. But one thing I have been able to do is go in for more Kyudo tutoring during classes. This I think will really help me to pass my next Kyudo exam and be a better Kyudo player over all.
