HealthEast Care System is a community-focused, non-profit health care system that provides a full spectrum of health services. Hospitals include St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. John’s Hospital, Woodwinds Health Campus and Bethesda Hospital. Other services include clinics, rehabilitation facilities, hospice, home care, and outpatient surgery centers. HealthEast employs 7,300 people and has more than 1,300 physicians on staff. Locally owned and operated, HealthEast is the largest health care provider in the Twin Cities’ East Metro area.
Kathryn Correia is the CEO of HealthEast Care System. An Ohio native, Correia received her undergraduate degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and her Masters degree in Health Administration from the Ohio State University. She previously served as president of Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center, and senior vice president of ThedaCare. She was also vice president for ambulatory care centers and administrative director for clinic operations at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pennsylvania, and vice president of Central Ohio Medical Group in Columbus, Ohio. Correia is married to Steve Correia, PhD, professor of Education at St. Norbert College in DePere. They are from the Fox Valley in Appleton, Wisconsin, they have a home in Woodbury, Minnesota, and have two school-age sons.
