Twin Cities’ entrepreneur Brad Rixmann is the founder, owner and CEO of the modern-day success story that is Pawn America. It all started back in 1990. While shopping for apartment furniture and electronics on a tight budget, Brad Rixmann, the President and CEO of Pawn America stopped into a local pawnshop.

He went in with an open mind and a slim wallet and left with an entrepreneurial intuition that he could “do it better.”  Starting with a few thousand dollars, 800 sq. ft., and a commitment to providing both a positive consumer experience and a top-notch workplace in the face of an oft-misunderstood industry, Brad has built an “I can do it better” epiphany into a thriving retail business. Today Pawn America has 25 locations in 4 states, with new stores being built out to the tune of 30,000+ square feet.

His company enjoys an unfathomable industry renaissance complemented by steady annual growth, national recognition and a slew of honors from Twin Cities’ opinion and business leaders.  The company employs about 500 full-time “Pawn Americans” and continues to grow despite the many challenges the industry presents. In fact, in just the last 5 years, Pawn America’s revenue has grown from $37M to over $82M annually.
