On September 21st ten guests arrived from Taiwan as part of a Rotary Friendship Exchange.  A few months ago a group of Rotary District 5960 Rotarians (including Vicki Gee-Treft and Roger Nielsen) were guests of the Rotary Club of Taiwan.

Host families were: Lyn Burton, Ken and Gwen Crabb, Blake and Sandy Davis, Carole Kralicek, Dick and Nancy Nicholson, Dion and Dan Powers and Michael-jon Pease and Christopher Taykalo. Vicki and Roger chaired the four days of activities.

ImageTour hosts were: Tom Heim (3M Innovation Center), Kay Baker (HealthEast CyberKnife Clinic), The Master Framers (Roger Nielsen), Padelford River Cruise (Jim Kosmo) and Summit Brewing Company (Mark Stutrud).

The Taiwan team stayed with seven host families, went on tours provided by Rotarians and attended the Minneapolis Rotary Club meeting. Group events were a wine & cheese reception (hosted The Master Framers) and a river cruise on Jonathan Padelford, and a BBQ dinner at Roger and Vicki’s Wisconsin cabin.

Gifts of Rotary water bottles were provided by Jerry Meigs. Crowne Plaza (thanks to Molly Boyne) provided complimentary lunch, and of course, President Dan McKeown and his wife Heidi hosted a dinner at the “Barn,” which was attended by DG Joe Kovarik and PRID Jerry Meigs. In addition to the host families, Valdi Stefanson provided transportation.

The team donated funds to the Saint Paul Rotary Foundation in recognition of their host families.”
