Embracing Humanity: Ordinary People doing Extraordinary Things.
OK- now that the Movie Academy’s Oscars have been awarded, we can talk about the presence that VIDEOS will have at the 2012 District Conference! On Friday, the Polio Eradication breakout session will show the video “The Final Inch.” This is an amazing story, telling of the experience of volunteers in India to immunize children. The magnitude of that effort is just jaw dropping! ALSO, there will be discussion of the public relations effort, “200 Videos in 200 Days” in that breakout session. Needless to say, you will enjoy a video or two.

Saturday, the movie “What are we doing here?” will be shown, with discussion, at the Fast for Hope breakout session. This important movie is not only relevant for discussions about Rotary efforts, but efforts of other organizations as well. Also on Saturday, the Oscar-nominated short movie, “Ana’s Playground” will be viewed followed by a discussion led by the producer, Jillian Nodland. “Ana’s Playground” is used throughout the country by organizations raising awareness of various children’s issues. Movies, Breakout Sessions, Youth Exchange Country Fair, Opportunity Café, Speakers – it will be a grand event in River Falls, WISCONSIN.
