Major General Rick C. Nash has served at every level of the Minnesota National Guard from Platoon Leader to Division Commander and now Adjutant General.

His duties and responsibilities have varied from domestic disaster response to Command and Control of Multi National Units in various theatres overseas including Bosnia and Iraq. His presentation will discuss the role of the Minnesota National Guard, its responsibilities and accomplishments, and its challenges going forward.

Major General Nash assumed duties as the Adjutant General of the Minnesota National Guard on November 1st, 2010. Before taking on the duties as the highest ranking military officer in the Minnesota National Guard and Director of Military Affairs for the State of Minnesota, Major General Nash has commanded at every level from platoon leader through Division Commander.

His previous assignment was as the Commander of the 34th, Red Bull, Division where he was the commander of United States Division-South, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2010. Prior significant assignments include Special Assistant to the Combatant Commander, North American Aerospace Command, United States Northern Command and Commanding General for the Multinational Brigade, North, SFOR-14 in support of Operation Joint Forge, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
