Beth Pinkney, Chief Executive Officer of the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation, will review the beginnings of the Winter Carnival, why the 127 year brand has lived this long, and how corporate partnerships keep it going and where we hope to take the Winter Carnival.

Pinkney was named to lead the organization that produces and presents Saint Paul's annual Winter Carnival. In taking the job, she left a 14-year career as a planner and coordinator of professional golf tournaments - including a stint as championship director of last year's U.S. Women's Open at Interlachen Country Club in Edina.

A native of Hoyt Lakes on Minnesota's Iron Range, Pinkney said she was ready to stop the peripatetic traveling life of managing golf tournaments. Under Pinkney's leadership, last summer's U.S. Women's Open finished with the highest ticket sales, largest corporate sales initiative and most revenue for any U.S. Women's Open in history.
