ImageGary D. Woodford was born in Dunseith, North Dakota on September 14, 1936 and passed away on May 14, 2012. Gary is survived by his wife Pat and their two children Scott Woodford and Kelli (Jim) Hungaski. Gary is also survived by two grandchildren, a brother and a sister. Gary and Pat made their residence in Bloomington, Minnesota and Rio Verde, Arizona.

Gary graduated from the University of North Dakota and shortly thereafter joined the auditing and accounting firm of Taylor, McCaskill & Co, CPA’s in downtown St. Paul Minnesota. Gary earned and obtained his CPA certificate and after several years went to work for Olson Graphic Products as its CFO. Gary remained CFO through and after the sale of Olson Graphic Products to Bell Industries until his retirement.

Upon retirement Gary and his wife Pat purchased a home in Rio Verde, AZ where they spend each winter. Rio Verde is a golf community and Gary loved to play golf. Gary and Pat also play golf in the summer months as a member of Island View Country Club in Waconia, MN.

Gary joined the Rotary Club of St Paul in 1982 as he was introduced by former St Paul Rotarian Earl Olson, the CEO of Olson Graphic Products. The year 2012 was Gary’s 30th year as a St Paul Rotarian and Gary loved Rotary. He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, an Elmer Andersen Fellow and a contributor to the Rotary Club of St Paul Centennial Fund. Gary was active on several committees of the club as he spent several years as chair of the recruitment sub-committee of the St Paul Rotary Youth Conference (now Camp RYLA). Gary also served on the Board of Directors, was Chair of the Membership approval Committee and worked on the Adopt a Highway project. Pat joined Gary in helping with some of these projects and they hosted youth exchange students during the 24 hours they visited St Paul.

Gary was known for his sense of humor (he loved to tease), his kindness and generosity and his concern for others. He is missed by his family, friends and by his fellow Rotarians.

We ask that this memorial resolution be entered in the minutes of the Rotary Club of St Paul and that a copy be sent to his family.
