Dear Saint Paul Rotary,

Last weekend I attended Camp RYLA and had the best time of my life!  When I got home people asked me how camp was and I found it extremely hard to find words that could describe the OUTSTANDING weekend.  I’d reply “The best time of my life” hoping they’d somehow understand that words could not do justice for how I felt about RYLA.  In fact, I repeated it so many times it got me thinking.   Was it actually the best time of my life??

To be honest no other event or camp even comes close to RYLA.  Not only did I have fun, meet people that I now consider FAMILY, but I also learned a lot.  I was challenged daily in our discussion groups, RYLA High groups, activities such as the ropes courses and RYLA Olympics but at the same time had SO much fun.

I learned about myself, how to work as a team, how to bond and talk to people you’ve never met in a very short time period and most importantly how crucial it is to listen to others.  When on a team full of leaders you can still lead by example.  Everybody is so different and everybody is important!  When I left Camp RYLA I left a part of me.

Thank you so much for the great opportunity.

With love,
