Dirk DeYoung, editor of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, has overseen a dramatic transformation of the Twin Cities premiere source of local business news and analysis. The weekly print edition was redesigned last fall to provide a better and deeper reader experience, and its staff of reporters are now breaking major stories online every day, including the Business Journal's morning and afternoon email editions and multiple social-media channels.

DeYoung, who's been with the Business Journal for more than 18 years, will discuss how the publication has changed with the times, and look ahead to what the Business Journal expects to be the trends and stories to watch this year.

He's also been a managing editor, reporter and research director at the newspaper.  Prior to that, he was a reporter for daily newspapers in Mason City, Iowa, and Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He has a B.A. in journalism from the University of Minnesota and lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two children.
