Destination Medical Center is a one-of-a-kind, $5.6 billion economic development initiative in Rochester, Minnesota. It is the largest public-private partnership in state history, and will generate an estimated 40,000 jobs in Minnesota over the next 20 years – making Minnesota a global center for the highest-quality medical care.

 

As executive director for the Destination Medical Community (DMC) Economic Development Agency (EDA) Lisa Clarke oversees the organization that provides services to the DMCC Board to develop, plan and implement the DMC strategies. Clarke spent 17 years with Mayo Clinic in progressive roles with the past four years focused on providing leadership and strategic direction to bring the DMC vision to life, including serving as DMC EDA’s interim executive director since 2013.

Prior to that, she served as division chair in the Department of Public Affairs responsible for Mayo Clinic’s Community Relations initiatives, where she provided leadership and strategic direction to Mayo Clinic’s public affairs and community engagement activities. Before joining Mayo, Clarke worked in leadership roles with the YMCA of the USA and in the YMCA of the Twin Cities. In December 2014, Clarke was named the Rochester Post-Bulletin’s Newsmaker of the Year related to her leadership of the DMC.
