Rotation Day, Summit Brewing Company
Mark Stutrud and Summit Brewery hosted about 20 Rotarians for the October 13 Rotation Day. Mark shared the history of Summit’s founding as St. Paul’s first new brewery in nearly 100 years including the challenges of raising capital, siting the brewery and building a brand.
Mark toured guests through their newest facility which includes a new tap room with an expansive and unique wood bar designed and built by Wood in the Hood. The facility also houses Summit’s new can line. Mark shared the process of designing the line as well as the challenges of maintiaining Summit’s high quality standards while responding to the markets demand for cans verses bottles. Good conversations, business lessons and great beer samplings were shared by all.
