There has been a lot in the news during the past 12 months about 3D Printing, what is it exactly?  What is all the hype about?  Jim Bartel, Vice President and General Manager of RedEye, a Stratasys Business, will provide an introduction to 3D Printing.

As companies continue to look for better and faster ways to bring products to market, 3D Printing is increasingly playing a role in how that is done.  Traditionally, 3D Printing has been used in product development for concept modeling and rapid prototyping.  But with the improvements in technology and material development, it is quickly becoming a tool for manufacturing a wide range of products.  Mr. Bartel will talk about what 3D printing is, how and where it is used, and provide insight into where the industry is headed.

Jim Bartel is Vice President & General Manager of RedEye, a business unit of one of the leaders in 3D printing, Stratasys.  Based in Eden Prairie, Stratasys and RedEye serve the needs of companies throughout the Product Life Cycle process by providing 3D Printing solutions and services.

Jim has 20 years of experience in manufacturing companies, both public and private, and has served in various sales, marketing, product development, and general management leadership roles.  Prior to joining Stratasys, Jim served as President of ATEK Products, a local company involved in the design and manufacturing of proprietary products for industrial markets.  Jim earned a B.A. in Economics and Management from Hartwick College in New York, and holds an MBA in Marketing from University of Saint Thomas here in Minnesota.
