John Andrews, Scout Executive/ CEO and John Overland, Deputy Scout Executive of Northern Star Council, Boy Scouts of America will discuss plans to build a Leadership Center near their Base Camp facility at Fort Snelling.  The building design is almost complete and construction will start in May on this 42,000 SF, 2-level, $15M project.   The vision for the building will be shared as well as the youth leadership curriculum overview, site plan, current designs and 3D animated views of outside and inside the designed building.

 

John Andrews is a 34 year Scouting professional who moved to St. Paul 27 years ago, and 17 years ago became the Scout Executive.  He has been a St. Paul Rotarian since that time, and is a past president of Club Ten, and a past Chairman of the St. Paul Rotary Foundation.

John Overland has been working for Scouting for over 21 years in the Twin Cities area.  He is currently the Deputy Scout Executive responsible for the program delivery and facilities management of seven traditional camps, Base Camp and council-wide information systems.  John is the project manager for the design and construction of the new Leadership Center.  John has been a Rotarian since 1996 and a member of Saint Paul Rotary since 2007.  He currently serves as a Director for Vocational Service on the Club Ten Board.
