John Dillinger, Creepy Karpis, Ma Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, Babyface Nelson, Bugsy Seigel - they all called St. Paul their home in the wild Public Enemies-era of the 1930s.
Crime historian Paul Maccabee spent 12 years uncovering 100,000 pages of FBI files and long-secret police records to create the true crime book, “John Dillinger Slept Here: A Crooks’ Tour of Crime and Corruption in St. Paul” – called “a small masterpiece of social history" by Playboy magazine.
Maccabee has been featured in three national A & E Cable TV specials, along with crime documentaries aired on The Travel Channel and C-Span TV.
