Inviting the World to Minnesota
In each decade there are four World Fairs, often called Expos, held somewhere on the planet. This year's Expo is in Milan and the theme is food and feeding the planet. Minnesota is preparing a bid to host the 2023 Expo around the theme "Healthy People, Healthy Planet" . This presentation will look at the many opportunities that hosting the 10-12 million people who will come to visit during the summer of 2023 and highlight the work of a number of community and business organizations working to make this happen.
Mark Ritchie was first elected Minnesota's Secretary of State in 2006 and served two terms befogging retiring from that office in January of this year. He serves as Chair for the Minnesota World's Fair Organizing Committee. Mark is a graduate of Iowa State University and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
