This is a son's presentation of his parent's experiences as Japanese-American's born in the U.S. and what they experienced being interned in America's Concentration Camps. Included will be a contextual summary about the camps which were established with a particular emphasis on his parent's own words about how they felt and what they experienced before and during the internment. John will comment on their post-war experiences and how it affected them and will bring a laundry bag and a poster nailed on phone polls announcing the evacuation. 
 

 

John Suzukida, Arden Hills/Shoreview Rotary club member and past-president was Senior VP of Marketing & Strategy for the Trane Company’s Global Commercial business prior to founding Lanex Consulting, LLC in 2002, which works with leadership teams on their business models. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Illinois and served as president of its Mechanical Engineering Alumni Board. He earned his Professional Engineer license in Wisconsin and is currently on the Board of Directors for Steffes, Corp. and Terra-Therm, Inc. He lives with his wife Lori in Shoreview, MN and has three grown children.
